Inculcation explores experimental filmmaking practices that investigate the domestic space, evolving expectations of those who identify as women, and the ways that ideologies are inculcated in our early lives. Building Denver: Visions of the Capital City explores the growth, urban developmentand architecture of Denver from 1860 to today. Montejos style can be referred to as gestural painting, which in Spanish translates to gesto to move or be moved. The pieces are not easily reduced to the stereotypes and simple points of view that dominate the conversation about race in this country. Nature is the overall theme but these seven artists all have their own eye and attitude when it comes to depicting it, ranging from Beau Careys series of paintings capturing different personalities of the moon to Danielle Wingers electrifying paintings of forest fires rendered in blazing red.
